Established at the request of IMS members, the Digital Credentials and Badging Alliance supports the creation, maintenance and adoption of standards related to badges and digital credentials. These standards help to avoid the need for every organization to reinvest in the tools, processes, and interactions to integrate with every platform. In particular, IMS maintains the industry leading Open Badges standard.
Accredible has been following the work of IMS for some time and the Accredible platform has been Open Badges compliant for many years. Joining the alliance provides the opportunity to be certified and to participate in the work that shapes future versions of the standard.
“The mission of the IMS Global Learning Consortium as a whole is to advance technology that can affordably scale and improve educational participation and attainment. We’re very excited to be working with IMS and to help with the adoption of standards that help learners above all.” – Alan Heppenstall, CTO of Accredible.
