Danny co-founded Accredible in 2013 with Alan Heppenstall, after graduating at the top of his class from Durham University in the UK.
Danny has experienced the need for a more well-rounded credential first-hand. After being initially rejected by Durham University for his grades, Danny pushed back asking for an interview to discuss his passion for computer science, and when the grades he entered with said he would be a failure, he was admitted and graduated top of his class - only further proving that in the Information Age we should be evaluating individuals on more than a GPA.
Danny also established Entrepreneurs Durham, a student-led business and enterprise society at Durham University offering entrepreneurial opportunities to its members.
Alan dove straight into entrepreneurship after receiving both his Bachelor and Master’s of Science in Computer Science from the UK’s University of Durham.
In 2013, Alan co-founded Accredible, alongside CEO Danny King, to address the growing need for secure and trusted digital accreditation at a range of organizations including higher education and nonprofit associations. Alan, along with Danny, believe that individuals should be evaluated holistically and organizations should be taking advantage of every technology to better identify the most capable team members.
Before co-founding Accredible, Alan launched two other organizations: PUBme Ltd and Entrepreneurs Durham.
